The Universidad de Alicante is a public university created in October 1979. Today, it hosts nearly 33,000 students, fifty degrees, five research institutes, a science and technology park, and a singular museum. It also hosts the Miguel de Cervantes Digital Library. Research activities cover a wide spectrum of scientific and technological fields as well as social sciences, law studies and humanities, education and health.

The UA coordinates the project, monitor its development and contribute to a number of strategic objectives related to the cooperation with external infrastructures, the dissemination and the dynamisation of research and the validation of tools.
